The Director General of Cultural Heritage, Tourism, and Handicrafts of Mazandaran stated in this regard:
“Landscape Revitalization Campaign of Shaneh Tarash was carried out with the aim of enhancing visual quality, strengthening local identity, and increasing the sense of social belonging among residents. Relying on public participation, it sought to give a fresh and lasting appearance to the village’s public spaces.”
He added:
“In this project, the approach was not merely construction-oriented; rather, with a focus on solidarity and collective cooperation, the groundwork was created for attractive spaces for both residents and tourists, so that the outcome would embody not only beauty, but also durability and cultural identity.”
Referring to the implementation process of the program, the Director General of Cultural Heritage of Mazandaran said:
“The campaign was carried out intensively over two days. On the first day, the main preparations and painting were completed to establish the core visual transformations. On the second day, the execution of local motifs, the enhancement of cultural elements, and the final harmonization of the environment were undertaken.”
He continued, referring to the village’s status, and noted:
“Shaneh‑Tarash village has been introduced as one of the 8 candidate villages of the Islamic Republic of Iran to participate in the competition for the ‘Best Tourism Villages of 2026.’ The implementation of this campaign plays an effective role in improving its landscape indicators and preparing it for this international event.”
At the end of the program, facilitators, youth, and local residents who played a role in implementing Landscape Revitalization Campaign of Shaneh Tarash were honored with appreciation plaques, and the continuation of such participatory movements in the path of sustainable rural tourism development was emphasized.
